A WORD FROM RICH HOPKINS...THE "LEADER" OF THE LUMINARIOS......
NOW THAT I AM HOME IN TUCSON, NOT SICK ANYMORE (THANKS TO ALL MY WELL WISHERS, THE GERMAN BEER, THE WHISKIES, THE HUSTON BON BONS, THE PEPPERED OLIVE OIL, THE CAMMAMILLE TEA..AND ESPECIALLY GROSSE DANKE TO THE "RICH DOCTOR" MARION AND NOW FINALLY SLEEP! I AM FEELING BETTER AGAIN. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL OUR FANS AND FRIENDS IN GERMANY, DENMARK AND SWEDEN FOR ALL THEIR SUPPORT , LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP THEY CONTINUALLY SHOW TOUR AFTER TOUR..LIFE HAS ONLY GOTTEN BETTER. I ESPECIALLY WANT TO THAN HOLGER AND MARION AND OUR GERMAN FAN CLUB MEMBERS FOR ALL THE GREAT SUPPORT...AND ESPECIALLY IN KUNZELL WHERE WE HAD THE SCHWEIN AND POTATOS...THAT WAS A BEAUTIFUAL AND FILLING DINNER. DANKE TO ALL. I THINK THE TOUR MUSICALLY WAS THE VERY BEST I EVER WENT ON AND I'D LIKE TO THANK ANNA, GEORGE AND ADRIAN FOR THEIR BRILLIANT PLAYING AND SUPPORT AND LOVE. YES, IT'S TRUE THAT ADRIAN HAS QUIT THE BAND BUT PLEASE UNDERSTAND HE IS A BUSY MAN AND PLAYS IN MANY BANDS AROUND EL PASO . I HEAR HE IS DOING WELL. THE FUTURE OF THE LUMINARIOS WILL BE LEFT TO THOSE OF US, ME, ANNA AND GEORGE WHO ARE DETERMINED TO KEEP PLAYING IN THE NAME OF THE LUMINARIOS, LOVE, WHISHEY AND A GOOD TIME! I HAVE BEEN PLAYING AROUND ARIZONA AND TEXAS ALONG TIME AND KNOW MANY VERY GOOD GUITARISTS WHO I FEEL CAN PLAY WITH US AT ANY TIME. FOR INSTANCE, THIS WEEKEND IN AUSTIN WE WILL BE PLAYING WITH GEORGE'S BEST FRIEND ALAN DURHAM (ALEJANDRO ESCOVEDO) AND I HEAR THIS DUDE IS HOT! LAST WEEKEND IN TEMPE, AZ. I PLAYED WITH JOHN VENET, A LONG TIME RESIDENT OF TUCSON WHO HAS PLAYED WITH NAKED PREY, THE WOODCOCKS , BILLY SEDLMAYR...TO NAME A FEW...POINT IS MY FRIENDS, WE ARE BLESSED TO KNOW ALLOT OF TALENTED GUITAR SLINGERS...NO WORRIES. THE RIGHT PERSON AT THE RIGHT TIME WILL BE THERE...IT ALWAYS HAPPENS! OUR IMMEDIATE PLANS ARE TO KEEP PLAYING IN THE SOUTHWEST AND IN CALIFORNIA AND TO FINISH THE NEW LUMINARIOS ALBUM THAT WILL BE TENTATIVELY CALLED "CROSS EYED LOVERS"...WONDER WHO THEY COULD BE??! WE HAVE ABOUT 7 SONGS RECORDED IN VARIOUS STAGES AND OUR PLANS ARE TO GO TO AUSTIN LATER THIS FALL TO RECORD AND THEN I PLAN ON MIXING THIS BABY IN L.A...."TO THE MOON ALICE"! BESIDES PLAYING KICK ASS BASS GUITAR AND SINGING LIKE THERE IS NO TOMMOROW, ANNA HAS DECIEDED TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL AND FINISH WITH HER STUDIES AT UTEP IN GRAPHIC DESIGN..SO SHE WILL BE VERY BUSY. BESIDES ALL THAT, WE HAVE DECIEDED TO PUT OUR "COCONUT HEADS" TOGETHER AND MAKE A SERIOUS GO OF THE PARAGUAYAN SHIRT IMPORT BUSINESS WHICH IS NOW CALLED "THE SAN JACINTO SHIRT CO". WE WILL BE IMPORTING THE PARAGUAYAN "A'OPOI" MENS AND WOMENS DRESS SHIRTS THAT ARE REALLY CASUAL, SHORT SLEEVED, MADE OUT OF 100% COTTON WITH HAND STICHED EMBROIDERY ON THE FRONT OF THE SHIRT...THEY ARE BEAUTIFUL. WE ARE BOTH VERY EXCITED ABOUT THE VENTURE AND WE WILL BE LETTING YOU ALL KNOW HOW THIS UNFOLDS. ANNA, OF COURSE WILL BE DOING ALL THIS WHILE STUDYING, ROCKING AND WORKING....SHE IS AMAZING! I'D LIKE TO THANK THOMAS LINGSTAEDT ONCE AGAIN FOR ALL THAT HE DOES FOR US AND ALL THE OTHER COOL BANDS HE WORKS WITH...HE IS AN ANGEL. I UNDERSTAND THAT THE ROCKPALAST SHOW IN OCT. HAS BEEN CANCELLED AND THEY HOPE TO RESCHEDULE US IN THE FALL OF 06...SO ALL OF YOU, THANKS FOR EVERYTHING AND WE WILL MISS YOU! PEACE, LOVE, TACOS, BEER AND MORE LOVE, RICH |
